The Wirrabara Bowling Club will be able replace a worn out mower and roller thanks to funding of $7818 through the Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased the club will have the opportunity to purchase equipment which will assist in maintaining greens and achieving a quality bowling surface for competition.
“This will mean the club can host events in the North Western Bowling Association Competition,” he said.
“The current equipment has issues with safety and is not worth repairing.
“Being able to maintain a surface of the highest quality ensures the viablility of the club which will have benefits to the club, its members and the community.
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help small community groups.”
The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects in each of the 150 Federal Electorates. Rounds 1 and 2 of the Programme were highly successful, with more than 3,000 projects funded across Australia.
