The Robertstown War Memorial Community Centre will be able to undertake repairs to the community centre building thanks to funding of $15,354 through the Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased the community centre will be extended to include a café and provide a spacious area for the community to enjoy,” he said.
“The current community centre building will be extended out the front to compensate for crowded conditions and lack of room, after the centre has housed the local post office within its existing confines.
“The extension will incorporate a user friendly entrance with an area for a cafe to show off locally made goods and local history.
“The project will target visible reinformement corrosion, cracks and tile displacement to the internal walls.
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help small community groups.”
The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects in each of the 150 Federal Electorates. Rounds 1 and 2 of the Programme were highly successful, with more than 3,000 projects funded across Australia.
