The Oodnadatta Progress Association will be able to preserve and recognise the town’s unique history thanks to funding of $10,000 through the Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased the community has embarked on a project torenovate the community hall.
“The Oodnadatta Progress Assoc is planning to undertake renovations to the local community hall in various stages,” he said.
“The renovation will give a much needed new lease iof life with improvements to inside and outside walls, plus the addition of a war memorial to the outside of the hall to recognise those who have served the community.
“The project will stabilise and renovate the inside walls and improve the roof area which is a safety hazard.
“Finally new air-conditioners will enable it to be used on a regular basis
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help small community groups.”
