Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is delighted to have secured funding of $200,000 for the Eudunda Sporting Club to upgrade its facilities through the Community Sporting Infrastructure Grants (CSI) program.
“I am really pleased the Government will invest this funding toward the upgrade of the changerooms and clubrooms at Eudunda which will give the sporting bodies using the facilities a real boost and help increase sporting participation,” he said.
Eudunda Sporting Club provides changeroom and clubroom facilities for the local sporting bodies, community groups, businesses and private functions.
This funding will redevelop the facility providing a disabled toilet, parenting room, unisex medical rooms and unisex changerooms.
“In Eudunda these facilities are used by the local school plus the football, netball, motorcycle and tennis clubs.
“In our rural towns, sport is a huge part of engaging with your local community and developing friends and support networks and the local netball, football clubrooms are the place where players and spectators get togther on game day, functions are held and get the local community comes together.
“The investment is part of the Community Sport Infrastructure Grant program that is upgrading local facilities across Australia that will help drive increased participation in sports and physical activity.
“The Federal Government is supporting local grassroots sports because we recognise the wider health, social and community benefits that come from greater activity and participating in sport.
“It is a key priority of our government to promote the social and health benefits of physical activity and sport and our investment to upgrade facilities and infrastructure will provide a real encouragement for those local residents not currently active.”
