Elliston is one of the secluded jewels of the state’s West Coast the Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said on Sunday when he co-opened the new Elliston Walking Trail with Mayor Kym Callaghan.
I am pleased to have helped facilitate the Federal Government’s $802,000 commitment to help the council with this project.
Mr Ramsey said the 14kms of walking and biking trails between Little Bay Clifftop Drive and Cape Finniss including laying compacted limestone pathways, upgrading vehicle access and parking, and safer viewing areas are a wonderful addition to the Elliston tourist package.
“The coastline of Elliston is terrific and it now has the infrastructure to ensure locals and visitors can safely enjoy the views from our spectacular cliffs,” Mr Ramsey said.
This project was jointly funded by the Federal Government ($802,593), the South Australia Government ($307,573), District Council of Elliston ($662,300) and Mid-West Health ($3,000).
