The Minnipa and Districts Swimming Pool Inc will be able to undertake repairs to the swimming pool thanks to funding of $5000 through the Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased the pool repairs will enable to community to enjoy the facility for many years to come,” he said.
“The project will target visible reinformement corrosion, cracks and tile displacement to the internal walls.
“The pool which includes a toddler pool was opened in 1972 and was built for the community by the community.
“Being able to maintain the pool to the highest quality ensures families for generations to come will enjoy this great asset to the district.
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help small community groups.”
The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects in each of the 150 Federal Electorates. Rounds 1 and 2 of the Programme were highly successful, with more than 3,000 projects funded across Australia.
