The Jamestown Lions Club will be able to replace the old chairs at the RSL and Combined Services Club with funding of $4500 through Round 4 of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased the funding will enable the Lions Club to replace the chairs at the venue which is used for a number of purposes by different organisations.
“This Stronger Communities Grant will enable the replacement of the old, damaged and mismatching chairs with new chairs,” he said.
“The hall is used for wedding receptions, functions and by a number of groups including Lions, RSL, Apex and CWA.
“This hall is booked out on a regular basis by community groups and it is great to see these grants at work helping in the community.
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help regional communities.”
The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects.
