The Iron Knob Progress Association will be able to upgrade the Iron Knob Cemetery with funding of $5720 through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased the funding will help upgrade the cemetery and the project will see a new shelter built and marking of gravesites and sections.
“The cemetery is historic and the markers are required for people from other areas who often visit this historic cemetery,” he said.
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help regional communities.”
The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects.
