Yorke Peninsula is set to benefit from improved accommodation following the announcement that the Ardrossan Caravan Park will construct two luxury duplex cabins, funded under the Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects stream.
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said the project was a significant investment in building a stronger economy and driving jobs for the long term on Yorke Peninsula.
“Tourism is an ever increasing part of the YP economy, so this is a fantastic outcome for the Ardrossan Progress Association and the local community, with the project receiving $75,000 to construct two luxury cabins,” Mr Ramsey said.
“The new two-bedroom cabins will replace some of the parks aging accommodation options, whilst also offering many economic benefits to the township, given luxury accommodation is being increasingly sought by a discerning and cashed up sector of the market.”
Minister for Regional Development John McVeigh said under round two of the Building Better Regions Fund – Infrastructure Projects stream, the Coalition Government was investing well over $200 million in 136 projects with a total leveraged project value of $459 million.
“This means, in each successful community much anticipated local projects are receiving the funds needed to take a big idea and make it a reality,” Minister McVeigh said.
The second round of the Building Better Regions Fund, which includes the Community Investments stream and the Infrastructure Projects stream, is expected to create some 10,000 jobs from over 240 projects.
