Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey encourages businesses in Grey to attend free seminars hosted by the Australian Government to discover how Australia’s Free Trade Agreements can benefit their business.
“Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) all vary but can be a fantastic opportunity for Australian business to leverage their place in the international marketplace,” he said.
“FTAs offer preferential treatment in partner countries for Australian goods, in the form of tariff elimination or reduction. In some cases there may be quota expansion.
“For businesses already exporting goods to an FTA partner country, this increases the competitiveness of their products in those markets, especially compared to competitors from countries that do not receive preferential treatment under an FTA.
“FTAs may also address customs and trade facilitation matters, to provide expeditious, predictable, transparent and simplified customs administration for importers and exporters.”
The seminars will be held in –
- Kadina on Monday May 1, at the Kadina Football Club from 11am until 1:30pm
- Port Lincoln Tuesday May 2, Port Lincoln Hotel 10:30am until 1pm
“These seminars will be a great opportunity to learn more and explore the opportunities created by the North Asia FTAs,” he said.
“Participants will hear from Assistant Ag and Water Minister Sen Anne Ruston, China Advisor for Austrade Dr Chuyang Liu and advisers from Austrade and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.”
