The Eyre Gymnastics Club will be able to purchase new gymnastic equipment thanks to funding of $10,330 through the Stronger Communities Program (SCP).
Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he is very pleased new landing mats and a tumbling trampoline will help the gymnasts train and better prepare for competition.
“The Eyre Gymnastics Club was formed in 2015 by a group of community minded people with an an interest in health and fitness, with a special focus on gymnastics,” Mr Ramsey said.
“The club has accredited coaches and aims to enrich lives through gymnastics and promote the sport.
“Access to the best gym equipment will ensure gymnasts can train to the highest level.
“I am very pleased we have made these Federal Government funds available through the Stronger Communities Program to help small community groups.”
The Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities Programme offers grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 for small capital projects in each of the 150 Federal Electorates. Rounds 1 and 2 of the Programme were highly successful, with more than 3,000 projects funded across Australia.
